POWAYPAC THEATRE
Photo & lousy pics by Bobby Gee

I had forgotten how much fun Community Theatre could be.  The PowayPAC has been around for a  long time and operates primarily with volunteers.  I was invited to see their current play (March 2008), "The Rabbit Hole" by Steve Oliver who is the lead male actor in the play.  I really thank him for that because I had looked at the theatre many times thinking about going to a play but never acting on that thought.  His invitation caused me to get into action!

I'm certainly no critic or actor (although someone once described me as a "bad actor"), but my wife and I enjoyed a low cost evening at the PowayPAC.  We both find local theatre enjoyable and fun and this is one of the best we have seen.

You can reserve tickets on the telephone at 858-679-8085 and you can only get them from the theatre when open.  You pay for them at arrival and they don't take credit cards. Web access is  http://www.powpac.org/ , which will provide current play info.  Tickets are about $15.00 depending upon the performance night and whether or not it is opening night.  The location is adjacent to the car wash on Poway Road on the second floor.  Easily accessable, close and convenient.

There is an elevator to the 2nd floor of the building but it has to be accessed in the rear of the building.  Otherwise on arrival you are directed up a healthy flight of stairs in the front.   There is only seating for about 30 or 40 people and both the theatre and stage are somewhat limited in size.  Someone forgot to tell the production company though because I thought the production was worthy of a much larger and formal building.  We will be attending this theatre on a regular basis.  Its fun, inexpensive and they are local wonderful people !

WARNING:  we attended an opening night party and they did serve wine but coffee, tea and sodas were also served and available along with some munchies and cheese.
